TTC MARCONI takes over the activities of UniControls
Prague, December 2, 2020 - TTC MARCONI has bought the UniControls business, becoming the sole owner of the company's trademark and other assets. The transaction also includes the transfer of existing employees, intellectual property, property and all valid contractual relationships to the newly established subsidiary TTC MARCONI. "We have worked with UniControls for a long time as a manufacturer of some key devices for their control systems. The opportunity to purchase a commercial plant and the UniControls brand in bankruptcy proceedings is therefore an interesting business opportunity for us, which will enable us to further strengthen our position, especially in the area of supply of communication, information and control technologies for railway transport. We want to take advantage of the synergies of the UniControls production program with TTC MARCONI products and build on the brand's history by opening new markets at home and abroad, "says Josef Šelepa, CEO of TTC MARCONI. UniControls was founded in 1991 and has long been one of the internationally recognized suppliers of control systems and electronic equipment in the fields of railway transport and industrial management. In the past, among other things, it supplied a train control system for the Prague metro, is a supplier of traction energy consumption measuring equipment for locomotives and also played a significant role in the modernization of trains for Czech Railways. UniControls products are also known in many other countries around the world (in addition to Europe, also in China, Japan and Ghana). In 2018, several significant orders were lost and related financing problems. In the spring of 2019, the company was declared bankrupt.
